So this is just a bit of fun, really, but I don't have a persona for my garb yet. I need one for my pirate garb, my merchant garb, barbarian/viking garb, and *hopefully* sometime in the future, my nobility garb (probably Italian style in green, gold, silver, and/or red--POSSIBLY a navy blue, but that's so dark and a lot of the faires i go to are SO warm and sunny!) anyhoos, down to business.
*I am VERY VERY VERY open to comments and suggestions as I am not that creative or that well educated in the period*
What be thy name?
Clovis, probably, with different variations, like.. Clovis the Cleaver for pirate (maybe to indicate some crazed event in my life) and Clovis Von Hutten for barbarian (open to suggestions tho). Since I know Clovis is a boy's name, I'm just gonna say that my mother kept having still born babies so she prayed to St. Clovis and since I was the first (maybe only) one to be born and.. well, stay alive, she honored them by naming them after me. *OR* i could say my parents were convinced i would be a boy when i was born because of how fiercely i kicked and moved inside my mother so the name stuck??
Which decries thy station?
Pirate- probably a Privateer at Siouxland, but when I'm a guest elsewhere, I'll have some epic tail. I just don't know how convincing it will be because of the whole 'women on ship = BAD luck' thing..
Barbarian- wanderer, really.. don't know where to go with this..
Merchant- I was thinking of going for a medicine woman, since i do have an interest in herbalism (i just don't know much yet). either that or just a flower girl or something might be fun to do at our faire, Siouxland :D
Nobile- No idea here. I just know i should probably know where i stand in the whether i inherit/etc line.
Where dost thou make thy home?
Pirate- I could say that I'm originally from Shrewsbury, the county that the Siouxland Faire takes place in, and just visiting familiars.
Barbarian- just visiting the faire that i would be at presently. I was thinking a made up scandanavian place, probably.
Merchant- "I be of Shrewsbury". I'd be a peasant of the Earl and Countess's lands.
Nobile- probably Italy somewhere, visiting the Earl and Countess.
Who shares thy blood?
Pirate- could have family/familiars at Shrewsbury. maybe just visiting other faires. maybe could be widowed or was betrothed and the guy died. parents could be living, really. possibly siblings? cousins?
Barbarian- my family may be wandering elsewhere or back at home. i think i'd want to have a "close family values" take if I ever got started on this subject as this character. don't think i'd be married. large extended family would be funny.
Merchant- could be betrothed to someone? parents could be old, so they want to get rid of me asap. maybe only one or two younger siblings? small extended family?
Nobile- it'd be awesome to be able to ramble off multiple generations with crazy italian names! maybe looking to be betrothed, hence why i'm visiting the faire i'm visiting atm. lots of family. italian-like. hehe.
What memories has thou made during thy life (political?) (moving?)(religion?) (tragedies?) (traditions?)?
Pirate- a lot of these like political and religion would probably be changed as applicable to the faire I'm atm. tragedies like loss of husband/betrothed could tie in with some crazy tradition of.. talking to them or something. i don't know :(
Barbarian- probably just think up crazy, obnoxious, family/culture related stories about feasting or the hunt or something.
Merchant- need to brush up on my shrewsbury knowledge for this one, probably. i'd imagine parents would think of me a burden to not be married yet.
Nobile- probably more "flirty" or very eager to speak of marriage and codpieces and of the like.
How is thy Health?
I think good across the board, unless merchant could be ill at times? *shrug*
Who are thy familiars?
*note to self* make friends..
more to come later!!
